So yeah...
I've been pretty crap at keeping up with this beast these last few weeks.
Yesterday, I took a nap from 3:30-6:20 and went back to bed at 6:30 and slept until 9:30 this morning...That's something like 18 hours of sleep... crazy.... That is just an indicator of how crazy busy my week was!

Something I Am Working On...
Well, I should be working on homework, but instead, I decided to blog...because, I really haven't done enough of it.
I just started working at the Physical Plant (maintenance department) here at AU. I chose this particular job over others for a couple of different reasons. Clearly, I needed a job, but it is more than just that. I often find myself entrenched in academia and surrounded by those who are educated like me in many ways. Honestly (and bluntly), I don't want to be an educated jackass who is so involved in academics that I miss out on the gifts and talents that other people have to offer. Unfortunately, I can see myself becoming this way because I just love the realm of academia. I want to begin to understand people better and appreciate them for who they are. This job exposes me to people I may not meet normally in my day to day routine. It's great (meeting the people, the job - not so fun!)

I am thinking...
I am thinking that birthdays are overrated. Just so ya know... Tomorrow my day will consist of:
7-8:30 a.m. - Cleaning out the University vehicles.
9-9:50 a.m. - Statistics --- QUIZ
10-10:50 a.m. - Critical Analysis
12:30-1:15 p.m. - Lunch with a prof. to discuss research
2:00-2:50 p.m. - Cognitive Psych Test
Yep...that's it...crazy madness.

Inadequacies
As mentioned before, I have huge feet. I have always had huge feet. In fact, I was wearing a size 6 women's shoe in first grade. A size 9 in fourth grade, and from there my feet grew a size a year until I was probably 14 or 15. Well, can you imagine trying to squeeze my gianormous foot in 1st grade through the ankle hugger jeans that were so popular back in the day... Seriously, I would try and point it straight, and it would still get stuck, no matter what. I remember sitting in the hallway as a little first grader, trying to yank my jeans on and get them over my feet...
When I buy pants, my butt is certainly not my main concern. But rather, I stand and look in the mirror and think, "How do these make my feet look? Big?"
Or when I go bowling, and I have ask for Men's 14s...they never are the cool glow in the dark ones, but simply the boring, old red and white ones.
Tonight, I played IM soccer (our team is called the Gaithers), a game that I am not skilled in... My feet certainly get in the way, but I did score a goal.
By focusing on my perceived inadequacies, I take time and emotional energy from the things that I am good at... this goes far beyond the size of my feet...
